Gennady Stolyarov II

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Vitalist Bay conference in Berkeley, California, at the Lighthaven facility, U.S. Transhumanist Party Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II will host a one-hour workshop from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, entitled “Seizing Policy Opportunities for Life Extension and Overcoming Political Obstacles in 2026“. You are encouraged to attend the workshop in person if you are in the Bay Area at this time, as that provides for the most interactive format during the hour that we will have.

This workshop will focus on prospects for beneficial policy reforms that could be achieved in the near-term future to accelerate the progress of potentially lifespan-extending research, as well as the difficulties presented by the political status quo – particularly, the polarized two-party system in the United States, which risks stifling progress, fragmenting the Vitalist community, and redirecting efforts toward sub-optimal paths. Attendees will be invited to actively participate in crafting an agenda for near-term victories to pursue soon, as well as tactics and strategies to remain focused and resilient in the face of both domestic and geopolitical turmoil. This workshop will include an open discussion where thoughtful analysis of both the merits and the drawbacks of any proposal or political program will be encouraged.

The format of the workshop is a guided discussion with the attendees.
