U.S. Transhumanist Party Congratulates Pete Karas on Securing Ballot Access for Wisconsin Secretary of State CampaignRead our full press release here: transhumanist-party.org/2026/06/21/pete-karas-ballot-access/June 21, 2026 – The United States Transhumanist Party (USTP) congratulates Pete Karas, the Green Party candidate for Wisconsin Secretary of State and an officially endorsed USTP candidate, on successfully securing his place on the November 2026 ballot after defeating a partisan challenge designed to remove him from contention.In early June 2026, Gregory Walz-Chojnacki, a Democratic Party affiliate, filed a challenge with the Wisconsin Elections Commission seeking to invalidate all 2,937 voter signatures collected by the Karas campaign—well above the 2,000 signatures required for ballot access. The challenge, pursued through the Milwaukee law firm Halling & Cayo, S.C., alleged technical issues with circulator residency and signature clarity but did not claim any signatures were fraudulent. The effort followed a pattern of similar Democratic-backed attempts to limit third-party ballot access in Wisconsin, including prior actions against Green Party candidates.The Karas campaign responded forcefully by retaining legal counsel, submitting sworn affidavits from more than a dozen circulators statewide affirming full compliance with Wisconsin law, and presenting comprehensive legal arguments. The New Jersey Secretary of State’s Office, fortunately, saw through the challenge as being what it was – a partisan attempt to eliminate a competitor – and upheld the vast majority of Huse’s petition signatures. On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the U.S. Transhumanist Party invites Dan Montano, CEO of Zhittya Genesis Medicine and founder of the Freedom to Try Medical Innovations for Nevada committee, to discuss the ballot initiative (C 05 2025) that he has originated to add an expanded right to try medical innovations to the Nevada Constitution. If this ballot initiative gathers sufficient petition signatures by June 24, 2026, it will then be put before the voters in the November 2026 general election. If enacted, this initiative would amend the Nevada Constitution to establish a fundamental right for individuals with life-altering diseases or conditions to access and try medical innovations, including experimental treatments and participation in medical research studies.Under the amendment, eligible patients—those with serious, enduring health conditions who have considered approved treatments—could participate in physician-approved research studies that have been reviewed and approved by an independent Institutional Review Board (IRB). The amendment prohibits the State from interfering with or imposing additional regulatory barriers on such access, beyond existing federal or state requirements.The amendment further provides immunity from civil liability for physicians, manufacturers, and health care facilities involved in approved studies, except in cases of intentional misconduct, fraud, or gross negligence. The amendment does not require any provider or insurer to offer or cover experimental treatments, nor does it alter existing protections for human research subjects. On Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Vitalist Bay conference in Berkeley, California, at the Lighthaven facility, U.S. Transhumanist Party Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II will host a one-hour workshop from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, entitled “Seizing Policy Opportunities for Life Extension and Overcoming Political Obstacles in 2026“.A livestream is available for those unable to attend the workshop in person. The first day of the Berkeley Conference on Aging and Longevity (BerkeleyCAL) has been fascinating, with the opportunity to hear and speak with some of the brightest minds in the field of longevity science. This Sunday, May 3, 2026, the second and final day will begin at 9 a.m. U.S. Pacific Time and will likely last until about 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Technical difficulties with the YouTube livestream led the conference organizers to shift the free public stream of the conference to Zoom. Artificial intelligence, when used with intentionality and discernment, can enhance human creativity instead of supplanting it. On Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. Pacific Time, the U.S. Transhumanist Party (USTP) presents a special Virtual Enlightenment Salon to demonstrate this insight in practice. Led by USTP Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II, this AI Creativity Session will aim to use multiple AI models for the creation of distinctive artistic outputs, guided by ideas and feedback from the panelists and audience. This will be a participatory session where reasonable suggestions and observations will be welcomed in the YouTube chat. The goal will be the creation of a finished work or works through the use of AI that will be capable of being deployed in transhumanist circles to enhance our messaging and communicate our vision of a dramatically improved future for humanity. April 22, 2026 – The United States Transhumanist Party (USTP) has endorsed two additional candidates for office during the 2026 election season: Pete Karas, who is running as a Green Party candidate for Secretary of State in Wisconsin, and Blase Henry, who is running as an independent candidate to become one of the two Representatives for Arizona’s Legislative District 17. This endorsement comes pursuant to the All Hands for a Free Future political coalition that was entered into with our partner organization, the United States Pirate Party, in September 2025.
