Post by John Marlowe, copied here at his request: “I hope that the US TH Party stands behind Research!America’s push to #raisethecaps on scientific research funding across the board. The party of science must stand behind its stated principles, or it falls into the trap of the two parties. Scientific R&D spending has, adjusted for inflation, fallen. This has to change if a fairer, brighter future is to become possible.”

Spirituality and teaching that in schools and being and remaining human than tech driven and yet striving for higher seeking to connect with the divine in all of us should be promoted in the American educational systems and all educational systems of the world.

Seems like it could turn into a conflict of interest to run a business, or do you mean to support the creation of federal agency that would run a cryopreservation facility?
Please, the government is unreliable, at best, to create, operate and maintain a cryopreservation agency. Regardless, we are too early in adequate R&D to say that cryogenics is the answer to human longevity. There will never be adequate government funding without results in research that show positive outcomes. Yes, I know, it is a vicious cycle since, without adequate funding there will be little result, and without results, there will continue to be inadequate funding. What cryopreservation research needs is someone with $100s of million dollars, who really wants to experience the benefits of positive research results. I buy one Powerball ticket per week and if I win, there will be adequate funding!! 😉 Any others want to commit?
While I, too, do not put much trust in many government services, it may be necessary with cryopreservation. I am concerned that these companies may end up running out of business, which will end up killing all of those the business already cryopreserved. At least with a government agency we can be sure that they will always have enough funding. Just a thought.
I working to grow the transhumanist movement in the DC area. We will be hosting events soon which will be joint events between the DC Transhumanist Meetup and the “Rockville Futurists” meetup. https://www.meetup.com/DC-Transhumanist-Party-Meetup/
Part of our focus will be on lobbying the FDA to lower regulations on life extension treatments and make it easier for life saving drugs to get to market. I am working with Edward Hudgins at the Heartland Institute on this. If you have further ideas please reach out – daniel.elton at nih (dot) g o v
The “Institute of Climate Change Denial” or, as you prefer, Heartland Institute, no longer discloses its funding, apparently, after being caught red-handed taking major support from Exxon-Mobil… and you’ve lost my support at that juncture. Best of luck on the lowering of drug prices… try some Medicare For All, maybe? We already have “Right To Try” from Trump for experimental and untried drugs.
