U.S. Transhumanist Party Congratulates Pete Karas on Securing Ballot Access for Wisconsin Secretary of State Campaign
June 21, 2026 – The United States Transhumanist Party (USTP) congratulates Pete Karas, the Green Party candidate for Wisconsin Secretary of State and an officially endorsed USTP candidate, on successfully securing his place on the November 2026 ballot after defeating a partisan challenge designed to remove him from contention.
In early June 2026, Gregory Walz-Chojnacki, a Democratic Party affiliate, filed a challenge with the Wisconsin Elections Commission seeking to invalidate all 2,937 voter signatures collected by the Karas campaign—well above the 2,000 signatures required for ballot access. The challenge, pursued through the Milwaukee law firm Halling & Cayo, S.C., alleged technical issues with circulator residency and signature clarity but did not claim any signatures were fraudulent. The effort followed a pattern of similar Democratic-backed attempts to limit third-party ballot access in Wisconsin, including prior actions against Green Party candidates.
The Karas campaign responded forcefully by retaining legal counsel, submitting sworn affidavits from more than a dozen circulators statewide affirming full compliance with Wisconsin law, and presenting comprehensive legal arguments. The challenge ultimately collapsed when the law firm withdrew its effort in defeat, confirming Pete Karas’s ballot access.
“The U.S. Transhumanist Party is well-aware of efforts by the Democratic Party to knock challengers off of the ballots in states where independent candidates and minor political parties seek to offer genuine alternatives to the Duopoly.” noted Gennady Stolyarov II, Chairman of the United States Transhumanist Party. “In 2021, our own endorsed candidate for Mayor of Camden, New Jersey, Jennifer Huse, faced a similar ballot-access challenge by a representative of the Camden Democratic Party political machine, who was disguised as an independent but filed to challenge Jennifer Huse’s petition signatures to disqualify a true independent candidate. The New Jersey Secretary of State’s Office, fortunately, saw through the challenge as being what it was – a partisan attempt to eliminate a competitor – and upheld the vast majority of Huse’s petition signatures. The U.S. Transhumanist Party now congratulates Pete Karas, whose candidacy it proudly endorses, for overcoming yet another illegitimate ploy of depriving voters of real choices. We hope that the people of Wisconsin seize the opportunity to elect a person of integrity, who can seriously undermine the Duopoly’s dominance at last.”
Pete Karas appeared as the featured guest at the USTP Virtual Enlightenment Salon on March 29, 2026, where he outlined his commitment to government adoption of innovation and technology to enhance democratic participation, information access, and transparency. His platform calls for modernizing government systems, promoting open debates, and implementing reforms that reduce barriers for independent and third-party candidates. Following a member vote held April 15–19, 2026, the USTP formally endorsed his candidacy on April 22, 2026, recognizing strong alignment with core transhumanist principles of reason, technological progress, individual liberty, and expanding voter choice beyond the two-party system.
