Bill Andrews, Ph. D. – Biotechnology Advisor
Dr. Bill Andrews (William H. Andrews) is the President and CEO of Sierra Sciences. As a scientist, athlete, and executive, he continually pushes the envelope and challenges convention. He has been featured in Popular Science, The Today Show and numerous documentaries on the topic of life extension including, most recently, the movie The Immortalists in which he co-stars with Aubrey de Grey.
In his 39-year biotech career, he has focused the last 27 years on finding ways to extend the human lifespan and healthspan through telomere maintenance. As one of the principal discoverers of both the RNA and protein components of human telomerase, Dr. Andrews was awarded 2nd place as “National Inventor of the Year” in 1997. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular and Population Genetics at the University of Georgia in 1981. He has served as Senior Scientist at Armos Corporation and Codon Corporation, Director of Molecular Biology at Berlex Biosciences and at Geron Corporation, and Director of Technology Development at EOS Biosciences. He is also a named inventor on over 50 US-issued patents on telomerase, and author of numerous scientific research studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Bill is also an avid ultramarathon runner. At the age of 67, he regularly competes in 100k and 100+ mile runs, often finishing at the top of his age group. These grueling races have taken him all over the world to race in some of the most extreme environments, from Death Valley to the Himalayas. His running is presently featured in the movie The High.
Keith Comito –Â Crowdfunding Advisor
In addition to developing high-profile mobile applications such as HBO Now and MLB AtBat, he explores the intersection of technology and biology at the Brooklyn community lab Genspace, where he helped to create games which allow players to direct the motion of microscopic organisms.
Seeing age-related disease as one of the most profound problems facing humanity, he now works to accelerate and democratize longevity research efforts through initiatives such as Lifespan.io.
He earned a B.S. in Mathematics, B.S. in Computer science, and M.S. in Applied Mathematics at Hofstra University, where his work included analysis of the LMNA protein.
JosĂ© Luis Cordeiro, MBA, Ph. D. – Technology Advisor
José Luis Cordeiro is a world citizen in our small planet in a big unknown universe. He was born in Latin America, from European parents, was educated in Europe and North America, and has worked extensively in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. He has studied, visited and worked in over 130 countries in 5 continents.
Mr. Cordeiro studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, USA, where he received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Economics and Languages. His thesis consisted of a dynamic modeling for NASAâs âFreedomâ Space Station (the âInternationalâ Space Station of today). He later studied International Economics and Comparative Politics at Georgetown University in Washington, USA, and then obtained his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the Institut EuropĂ©en dâAdministration des Affaires (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France, where he majored in Finance and Globalization. During his studies, Mr. Cordeiro worked with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, Austria, and with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC, USA. He started his doctoral degree at MIT, which he continued later in Tokyo, Japan, and finally received his PhD at Universidad SimĂłn BolĂvar (USB) in Caracas, Venezuela. He is a lifetime member of the Sigma Xi (ÎŁÎ, Scientific Research) and Tau Beta Pi (ĐąÎÎ , Engineering) Honor Societies in North America, is also a honorary member of the Venezuelan Engineers College (CIV), and his name has been included in the Marquis Edition of Whoâs Who in the World.
Following his graduation, Mr. Cordeiro worked as an engineer in petroleum exploration for the French company Schlumberger. For several years, he served as an advisor for many of the major oil companies in the world, including Agip, BP, ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil, PDVSA, Pemex, Petrobras, Repsol, Shell and Total. Later, in Paris, he initiated his relation with the international consulting company Booz-Allen & Hamilton, where he specialized in the areas of strategy, finance and restructuring. In Latin America, he has served as an advisor for some of the most important regional corporations and has taken part in the transformation and privatization of a number of oil companies in the continent. His experience and studies in monetary policy, currency boards, dollarization and monetary unions have taken him to participate in several monetary changes in Latin America and Eastern Europe.
At present, he is chair of the Venezuelan Node of the Millennium Project, Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE â JETRO) in Tokyo, Japan, and Founding Faculty and Energy Advisor at Singularity University (SU) in NASA Ames Research Park, Silicon Valley, California, USA. He is also an independent consultant, writer, researcher, professor and âtireless travelerâ. He has lectured as an Invited Professor at several major institutions, from MIT in the USA and Sophia University (äžæș性ćŠ) in Japan to the Institute for Higher Studies in Administration (IESA) and the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), where he created the first formal courses of Futures Studies (âProspectivaâ) and the Austrian School of Economics in Venezuela.
Mr. Cordeiro is founder and president emeritus of the World Future Society Venezuela Chapter (Sociedad Mundial del Futuro Venezuela); director of the Single Global Currency Association (SGCA) and the Lifeboat Foundation; cofounder of the Venezuelan Transhumanist Association and of the Internet Society (ISOC, Venezuela Chapter); board advisor to the Brain Preservation Foundation (BPF) and Center for Responsible Nanotechnology (CRN); member of the Academic Committee of the Center for the Dissemination of Economic Knowledge (CEDICE), the Foresight Education and Research Network (FERN), the World Future Society (WFS) and the World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF); expert member of the TechCast Project and ShapingTomorrow; former director of the World Transhumanist Association (WTA, now Humanity+), the Extropy Institute (ExI), the Club of Rome (Venezuela Chapter, where he was active promoting classical liberal ideas and the idea of âWorld Opportunitiqueâ beyond âWorld Problematiqueâ and âWorld Resolutiqueâ) and of the Association of Venezuelan Exporters (AVEX), where he participated in the original negotiations of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). Thanks to his extensive work in technological foresight, futures studies, globalization, economic integration, long-term development, energy, education and monetary policy, Mr. Cordeiro has authored and coauthored several books. El DesafĂo Latinoamericano, his first book, is a continental bestseller originally published by McGraw-Hill and is used in more than 100 universities in the hemisphere (see introductory pages). The second Spanish edition is now available completely free in electronic form by the author, who is also donating his book royalties. Newton Lee – Education and Media AdvisorÂ
Newton Lee is president of the Institute for Education, Research & Scholarships (IFERS), adjunct professor at Woodbury University School of Media, Culture & Design (MCD), editor-in-chief of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Computers in Entertainment, and book curator for Springer Nature.

Giovanni Santostasi, Ph. D. – Neuroscience Advisor
Giovanni Santostasi, Ph.D. is a modern Renaissance man (he considers his native Italy’s Renaissance movement a historical precedent of Transhumanism). He has received a Ph.D. in Physics working on gravitational waves and neutron star astrophysics. He has spent almost 20 years analyzing complex data in several scientific fields.
He is currently working as a neuroscientist at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, investigating the neuroscience of sleep and in particular the role of sleep in memory consolidation and learning. Paul A. Spiegel, J.D. – Legal AdvisorÂ
Paul A. Spiegel, J.D. is a thought leader, an international speaker, and a longtime activist in the fields of longevity and transhumanism. He is a board member of the Life Extension Advocacy Foundation  the American Longevity Alliance, and Humanity Plus, and is a former board member of the International Longevity Alliance.  He is a legal advisor to the U.S. Transhumanist Party, the Lifeboat Foundation, and the Brain Preservation Foundation, he is a member of Health Extension and carboncopies.org, and he provides legal counsel for many longevity-related and transhumanist enterprises.
Paul is an attorney specializing in longevity biomedicine and has counseled and consulted for the longevity community since 2006. Trained in international business law, he worked on Wall Street, on Montgomery Street, and in Tokyo before entering private practice in San Francisco. Jan-Olav “Joe” Spiekermann – Advisor on Seasteads and Micronations
Jan-Olav “Joe” Spiekermann is a safety and security consultant and a world citizen of German, Danish, French, and Swedish ancestry.
He studied History at the University of Marburg, Security Management at the Police Department of the Administration College of Schleswig-Holstein, and IT-Security at the University of LĂŒbeck. He has been involved in local politics for many years and is an active member of the micronational community. Joe is also a staunch supporter of the concept of a global Universal Basic Income. As the son of a math and physics teacher, he was taught the importance of science and technology from early childhood.
Joe Spiekermann is a Libertarian Transhumanist. He supports efforts at political, economic, and cultural experimentation in the form of seasteads and micronations, because he is convinced that small political entities are better suited to developing more sustainable forms of coexistence which, if they have proven to work, can then in turn be transferred constructively to larger political units again.
