Background and History

The U.S. Transhumanist Party has undertaken to revive and redesign LEV: The Game, which was initially attempted in 2014 by the original developer team, consisting of Anthony Lamot, Mathieu Hinderyckx, and Maxime Devos.

In 2020, the U.S. Transhumanist Party reached out to Anthony Lamot and obtained the rights to resurrect LEV: The Game. Unfortunately, the code for the original Alpha version was lost and would not be compatible with more recent versions of Android systems in any event.

Gennady Stolyarov II redesigned the game logic and made the game turn-based, with many additional events, technologies, and a basis in 2018 CDC Mortality Tables. (Xu JQ, Murphy SL, Kochanek KD, Arias E. Mortality in the United States, 2018. NCHS Data Brief, no 355. Hyattsville, MD: National Center for Health Statistics. 2020.)

In late 2023, programmer Juraj Štern-Vukotić was hired to code the most current PC version.

Illustrations and ideas for further game events and mechanics were crowdsourced. Some images were AI-generated.

Game music was composed by Gennady Stolyarov II; many of the pieces were remastered by Jason Geringer. Hear them as part of our Futuristic Neoclassical Music Virtual Concert here.

Build 0.91 is now available. Game features implemented since 2024:
•Which historical figure or famous animal has one’s character outlived?
•More futuristic events later on in the game, including world events that affect the character’s motivation and Energy levels.
•Tiers of Advocacy with varying Energy expenditure and effectiveness
•Many more artworks, including those that give Energy to the character

On May 12, 2024, Build 0.6 of LEV: The Game was demonstrated by USTP Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II, who designed the game mechanics. The programming for the game was done by Juraj Štern-Vukotić. In this demonstration, the audience participated by suggesting gameplay choices as well as providing feedback about the game and recommending further enhancements. Watch this demonstration on YouTube here.

On June 27, 2024, Chairman Stolyarov demonstrated a slightly later version of LEV: The Game (Build 0.65) at the Church of Perpetual Life virtual event, entitled “Immortalist Computer Games”. Watch this demonstration on YouTube here.

Read the article about LEV: The Game from the Church of Perpetual Life, entitled “Exploring Life Extension and Transhumanism: A Deep Dive into Immortalist Computer Games” (published on August 23, 2024).

On July 12, 2025, Gennady Stolyarov II, Chairman of the U.S. Transhumanist Party delivered a presentation on LEV: The Game as part of the Longevity Activists Panel at RAADfest 2025 in Las Vegas, moderated by Dr. Jose Cordeiro, the Technology Advisor of the U.S. Transhumanist Party and the USTP’s Foreign Ambassador in Spain. RAADfest 2025 was jointly organized by the Coalition for Radical Life Extension and the Longevity Escape Velocity Foundation (LEVF). Gennady Stolyarov II is also a Board Member and Treasurer of the LEVF.

The game version that was presented was Build 0.91. The character used for demonstration purposes was named Lazarus Long in honor of Robert Heinlein’s longevist science-fiction novel “Methuselah’s Children”.
