Hello fellow transhumanists!
I am writing to solicit help with H+Pedia, the transhumanist wiki. 2018 was a great year for H+Pedia, with many new articles written, especially on noted transhumanists and conferences. It is very easy to become an editor – creating an account takes under a minute
There is a growing list of articles for creation and many articles which need improvement. (see https://hpluspedia.org/wiki/H%2BPedia:Article_creation_main_backlog)
I consider this work very high impact for the transhumanist community because H+Pedia articles appear quite high in Google Search rankings. (for instance appearing in the top 5 for many name searches (Charlie Kam, Gennady Stolyarov, etc etc) and on the first page of results for “existential risk”).
Feel free to create an article on yourself as well – there is no bar to that like there is for Wikipedia. We only suggest that people adhere to a “transhumanist point of view” (https://hpluspedia.org/wiki/H%2BPedia:Transhumanist_point_of_view)
Right now we have a small team of devoted editors. I believe we can get many more people though with a little outreach.
Feel free to add me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Daniel.Elton) and please like the H+Pedia page (https://www.facebook.com/Hpluspedia/) and consider joining the H+Pedia group as well (https://www.facebook.com/groups/Hpluspedia/)
Hello all,
Has anyone else noticed a seeming uptick in news articles pertaining to anti-aging technology and age-related illnesses? I’m vary careful to keep my online tracking as anonymous as reasonably possible so as not to only receive the news that Google thinks i want, and i’m often in a situation where i’m not on my own device and reading articles. just today, in a span of about 20 minutes, these articles (see below) popped up and it struck me that they seem to be from more pop-culture friendly sites instead of obscure publishing only really relevant to the academic community. One might argue that these reporting sources clouds the veracity of the research. Or, one could point out the value of it trickling into the mainstream.

Addendum:
Here’s another article that hits the nail on the head.

Also, let’s reflect back on the media we’ve been enjoying in the last ten years. Consider films like Ex Machina, Ghost in the Shell (Scarlet Johansen), Automata, Battle angel. They all explore the theme of, or present it as a norm or non-issue, the blurring of man and machine.
Of course i’m not suggesting that these themes are only recent, merely that the tone is changing to more “accept this as normal”. The saturation seems to be upticking as i described with the news articles above. I’m claiming no quantifiable evidence, it’s only a perceptual ping, if you will.
